Join Ministers of Health, multilateral partners, civil society and the private sector to drive political and financial commitments for midwifery models of care, one of the most effective investments in maternal and newborn survival.
Midwives can deliver over 90% of essential sexual, reproductive, maternal and newborn health services, with returns of up to USD 9.30 for every dollar invested. This high-level session will spotlight how countries are using the Midwifery Accelerator to integrate midwifery models of care into national health systems at scale.
Featuring country experiences from Bangladesh, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Nepal, Rwanda, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia, the session will seek concrete commitments to address workforce shortages, strengthen domestic financing and align global investment with country priorities.
