Smooth Streets, Coming Soon! Shafter Avenue from 51st Street to Forest Street
Your street's up next to get smooth! As part of our accelerated paving program, the City of Oakland Department of Transportation will be repaving Shafter Avenue from 51st Street to Forest Street in the next few months. This will mean a little disruption as our crews work to repave your street, but your patience will be rewarded with

- No more bumpy street!
- New curb ramps to make it easier to cross the street
- Additional speed humps and new mini roundabouts to calm traffic

We want to hear your feedback on these street improvements. Please fill out the questions below and write your thoughts, ideas, and comments! We look forward to hearing from you.

Please note that repaving the street, curb ramps, and crosswalks being added are all routine maintenance and upgrades to ADA standards.
