Talmud @ Kadima
Sign up here for Kadima's (queer AF) Talmud class. Class will start August 8 and run Tuesday evenings through Sept. 19 (no class Sept. 5). We will be learning in the original Hebrew and Aramaic, but don't worry! You just need your aleph bet and elbow grease to dig in. It's going to be a lot of fun. We'll be learning about the shofars, diaspora, and what it means to create a Jewish community in the wake of destruction. If you have any questions, email
How would you describe your experience with Hebrew/text study?
This is to get a sense of where you are and help assign chevrutas (study partners).
I know my aleph bet. I can sound out words if they have vowels.
I know some words here and there/I've learned Hebrew before but forgot it.
I can understand a good chunk of what I read in Hebrew/I went to ulpan or day school.
I have studied texts seriously in the original Hebrew/I am fluent in modern Hebrew.
Do you have any accessibility needs I should know about?
Why are you interested in learning Talmud?
I can commit to coming to all six sessions:
Sessions are 6:30-9 PM at Kadima: 8/8, 8/15, 8/22, 8/29, (no class 9/5), 9/12, 9/19. Building a relationship with your chevruta (study partner) requires consistent attendance. It also is crucial to your ability to keep up, as each session builds on the last.
