Join staff from the San Diego River Park Foundation as they discuss two exciting citizen science data mapping projects and ways for volunteers to get involved:
1) Learn about how volunteers perform field surveys to identify trash sites for clean up, using a beginner-friendly Google Maps based app (Mappler). Collected data is then shared with the trash clean-up team, public agencies, researchers, policy makers, and the public.
2) Learn about our upcoming San Diego River experience: FishViews. This platform will incorporate volunteer collected 360-degree photographs and other field data. End-users will be able to digitally navigate the San Diego River and can view GIS layered information about water quality, points of interest, and more!
