Sexual Harassment and The Library
In light of #MeToo and in light of on-going discussion of sexual harassment, this is the time for talking about what happens in the library when it comes to these issues.

If you're willing to take part in a survey for a potential article on sexual harassment and violence in the library AS a librarian or library employee (from page to administration is fine!), please answer any/all of the questions below.

This is anonymous, and no names will be used in any capacity. Please share your story with as much anonymity as possible -- without identifying names or locations especially -- but do tell it. Get it out. Know it may or may not be shared in an article on Book Riot by Kelly Jensen. Any/all questions or concerns may be directed to her: kelly@riotnewmedia.com.

Survey will close October 23, 2017, midnight. Please feel free to share this.

What is/was your library employment at the time of the incident -- special library, public library, academic library, etc? This won't be used to identify any information but rather as a means of framing some of the article for readers.
Talk about where and how you've experienced sexual harassment at your place of employment.
Did you report this? Why or why not?
What sort of response did you receive upon reporting the incident?
Did you talk with colleagues before/after the incident and what sort of feedback did you receive? Was there pressure to write it off as "serving the public?"
In what ways have you changed your own behavior in light of your experiences, if at all?
Do you think there needs to be more training and/or resources made available to protect library employees from sexual harassment and intimidation in the workplace?  Any resources worth sharing?
In the library world at large, do you think sexual harassment/intimidation is an issue needing to be addressed? Why/how?
Any other thoughts/insights about sexual harassment in the library you'd like to share?
