Fronteras Middle School Dance Code of Conduct
This form includes expectations regarding dancing, attire, and behavior.  This form will also act as a parent contact form and permission slip for all dances for Fronteras Middle School.  This form is required for students to attend dances at Fronteras Middle School.  We ask that you review the expectations with your student and ensure they understand the rules and guidelines provided.  Failure to abide by the expectations will result in ineligibility to attend future dances.  Please fill out one form/a separate form for each student.  Some dances are parent sponsored and free while other dances will be sponsored by the Events and Fundraising Committee and will require a ticket purchase for entry.  We hope to promote and provide healthy, safe, and enjoyable events for all students.

Dancing: Students should dance upright, face to face, or side to side, and not jump up and down constantly.  During slow dances students should leave space between them.  Inappropriate dancing such as grinding or provocative moves is not allowed.  Students will be given one warning and then asked to leave if they are unable follow the expectations.
Have you reviewed the Dancing Expectations with your student and do you both understand?

Attire:  Different dances may have different suggested attire such as casual, semi-formal, formal, or costumes. Students are expected to adhere to the Fronteras Dress Code.  Have you reviewed the Attire Expectations with your student and do you both understand? *
Behavior and Attendance:  Students should be respectful and demonstrate positive behavior.  This may include not using cell phones or cameras during the dance, refrain from using profanity, refrain from inappropriate touching, and refraining from prolonged public displays of affections.  Students are expected to treat one another and staff/chaperones with respect and kindness while on school property.
Students are expected to check in with the host/hostess prior to entering the gymnasium.  Students are expected to stay within the dance area and not wonder around the school.  The dance area is typically the entry/lobby, main bathrooms in the lobby, and gymnasium.  Students are not allowed to leave the dance and return.  Students should arrive no later than 1 hour past the start of the dance.  Students may not arrive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  Students may be checked for illegal or controlled substances prior to entry to the dance area.  Staff/chaperones may conduct bag/purse searches.  No outside beverages of any kind are allowed.  If a student is suspected to be in violation of these rules, a parent will be called and asked to pick up their student immediately.  This may result in the inability to attend future dances.
Students should be picked up within 15 minutes of the dance ending.  PikMyKid is not being used for the dances, we ask that you check in with the host/hostess to locate your student.  Students should not go into the parking lot without being escorted by their parent/authorized adult listed on this form.  It is important that parents understand they need to enter the building, check in with the host/hostess, locate their student, and then leave.  Students may not leave the dance until they are picked up by a parent or authorized adult.
