Im April 2019 pflanzten ca. 250 Freiwillige über 4700 Bäume und ließen somit den "Klimawald Bayreuth" entstehen. Mit ihm soll ein langfristig widerstandsfähiger Wald entstehen, der durch die Kohlenstoff-Speicherung einen positiven Beitrag zum Klimaschutz leistet und zugleich einen Temperaturanstieg von min. 2°C tolerieren kann, um bestmöglich an das zukünftige Klima angepasst zu sein. Mach mit und lass uns hier vor Ort gemeinsam etwas Positives bewirken!
In April 2019 about 250 volunteers planted more than 4700 trees and thereby created the "Klimawald Bayreuth." The aim is to create a forest that is resilient in the long term, makes a positive contribution to climate protection through carbon storage and at the same time can tolerate a temperature rise of at least 2°C in order to be optimally adapted to the future climate. Der Juni war in Bayreuth etwa 5°C wärmer und 70% trockener als das langjährige Mittel (1981-2010). Leider hat sich dieser Trend zu ungewöhnlich heißem und trockenem Wetter fortgesetzt. Dies ist nicht nur für den Klimawald problematisch, sondern für alle Wälder der Region. Unsere Bäume sind jedoch noch jung und benötigen daher besondere Pflege. Damit sie die Trockenheit überleben, müssen sie gegossen werden - eine im Forst sehr ungewöhnliche Aktion, die logistisch nicht zum Alltagsgeschäft gehört.
June in Bayreuth was about 5°C warmer and 70% drier than the long-term average (1981-2010). Unfortunately, this trend towards unusually hot and dry weather continued. This is problematic not only for Klimawald, but for all forests in the region. However, our trees are still young and therefore need special care. In order to survive the drought, they have to be watered - a very unusual operation in the forest, which is not part of the everyday business from a logistical point of view.

Der Standort ist 1 Kilometer vom AELF Bayreuth (Adolf-Wächter-Straße 10, 95447 Bayreuth) entfernt. Vom AELF aus ist das Waldgelände mit dem Fahrrad in ca. 5 Minuten und zu Fuß in ca. 15 Minuten zu erreichen.
The site is 1 km from AELF Bayreuth (Adolf-Wächter-Straße 10, 95447 Bayreuth). From AELF to the site, it takes ~5 minutes by bike and ~15 minutes on foot.

Es wird ein 13.000 Liter-Fass der Landwirtschaftlichen Lehranstalten mit Wasser gefüllt, das dann mit Gießkannen zu den Pflanzen gebracht wird. Wasser sowie Gießkannen werden also gestellt. Teilnehmer brauchen also lediglich Getränke, gute Laune und Motivation mitbringen. Und wer hat, gerne auch zusätzlich noch Gießkanne/n.
A 13,000-liter barrel of water is filled with water from the agricultural educational institutions, which is then brought to the plants with watering cans. Water and watering cans are therefore provided. Participants only need to bring drinks, a good mood, and motivation. And those who have a watering can also be happy to bring it.
