Join us: Erina Kawachi & Maté Labus "Hi ya whatcha do my friend" (WORKSHOP)

Our project "Hi ya whatcha do my friend" was started with spontaneous sensations when Labus and Kawachi wished to know the situation of each side during the pandemic.

Through the works, we aim to explore the prospects of our dramaturgy in an intuitive way. We walk the neighbourhoods where we live and record footage of each side's passage, then we start a phone call to describe where we are and what we see. We also share our emotions. While one side is talking, another keeps listening and imagining what is happening on the other side.

The footage is edited into a simple two-divided video with subtitles. Just cutting in and out, we want to tie up several crucial moments during our walk, which are weird, provocative, and evoking for our memory.

Walking through nothing particular to see is our reality.
This project is a short log of no one, thus everybody's.

Performance in an Attempt would like to share their walking process coming from their current project “Hiya whatcha do my friend?” to you.

The artists will present their methods, then everyone goes out for a short walk along the Aker river to enjoy the early autumn walk and take short footage to share at the end of the activity. This walking experience might bring you an alternative view of your neighborhoods.
