***Funding Terminated as of April 19, 2025 (as per the President's January, 2025 Executive Order) 2026 Travel Award Application (cancelled)

Travel Awards Supported by the NSF BioLEAPS Implementation Award (#2335225)

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must meet all of the following criteria by the date of the annual IALE-NA meeting:

1. Be a U.S. citizen

2. Be actively engaged in research, education, or practice in landscape ecology

3. Be willing to participate in the Intercultural Competence Assessment and Training (3 hour time commitment)

4. Be willing to participate in two EID sponsored activities during the annual meeting.

5. Application deadline to be determined, but early applications are welcomed and appreciated.

Preference will be given to early-career members (within 10 years of receiving their terminal degree). Individuals from underrepresented communities in STEM including women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQA+ members are strongly encouraged to apply. Results of the awards will be communicated before the conference registration deadline, so the awardees can make travel arrangements. The goal is to offer 10 annual awards that includes the cost of membership, conference registration, flight, and $500 that can be used for other expenses as needed, however, given the current uncertainties about federal funding, the ability to offer travel awards is contingent on the continuity of funding for the NSF BioLEAPS Implementation Award.

Purpose: The BioLEAPS IMPLEMENTATION project aims to support professionals in the landscape ecology community through the mentorship network, ambassador program, leadership exploration programs, and intercultural competence training that aim to create a more equitable, just, and inclusive landscape ecology community.
