As Harvard faces a choice on how to respond to the demands of the Trump administration, we want to ensure that Harvard stands up for its values. Sign this petition below. You are also invited to the rally on Saturday April 12th at noon on Cambridge Common.

We, the undersigned, write to express our deep concern about the ongoing political attacks on American universities—attacks that threaten the bedrock principles of a democratic society, including the rights of free expression, association, and inquiry.
In light of this unprecedented assault, we call on Harvard’s leadership to take the following actions:
1. Publicly condemn attacks on universities and affirm Harvard’s commitment to academic freedom.
2. Legally contest and refuse to comply with unlawful demands that undermine academic freedom and university self-governance. The autonomy of educational institutions has enabled American universities to lead the world in scientific and medical innovation, benefiting society at large.
3. Coordinate with peer institutions and alumni networks to build a strong, collective response to these anti-democratic threats.
We urge Harvard to lead with courage, integrity, and resolve in this critical moment.
Signed,
