Hughes Memorial United Methodist Church, currently under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Reginald Tarpley, Pastor, has been a vibrant part of the NE DC Community since 1949. Our mission is to "reach new disciples for Jesus Christ." Our activities include weekly Community Meals, weekly Community Walks, Senior Fellowship - Fun, Food and Fellowship, Men's Fellowship, Cluster 20019+ Fellowship and Bible Study, Community Pop-Up and Game Trivia Events, and monthly grocery distribution.
Our Ministries include our Audio-Visual/Technology Ministry, Circles of Love Ministry, Consolation Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, Hughes Loving Care Ministry, Innovative and Partnerships Ministry, Men's Fellowship Ministry, Senior Fellowship Ministry, Usher's Ministry, United Women in Faith Ministry, Worship Ministry, and a growing Music Ministry. On the last Saturday of every month, we distribute groceries to our community through our Food Pantry.
