Detroit Polling Location Survey 2020
We are collecting information about as many polling locations as possible through this Presidential Primary election to ensure that voters, particularly those of us with disabilities, are able to caste our ballot and fully participate in all of the important elections in 2020. Across the US, disabled citizens vote 6% less than our non-disabled peers- that's enough to swing any recent presidential election! Part of that lower voter turnout is because of inadequate accommodations, inaccessible polling locations, and insufficient poll worker training.

We want to identify any potential problems at the polls, so we can work with the Detroit City Clerk to fix them immediately. Please share with us your voting experience and we will investigate problem spots. While we are primarily focused on Detroit, if you live in other parts of the Metro area, we'd like your input as well.

What polling location would you like to share information about? Please use precinct number, building name, or address so we are clear about where you were. *
What is the address of the polling location, including city?  Please put as much of the address as  you can. *
At your polling location, are there clearly marked accessible parking spots (i.e. blue lines and obvious signage)? *
The path from the parking lot to the voting station was paved, as well as clear of stairs, narrow doorways, and physical obstacles that would make it difficult for a wheelchair user or visually impaired person to enter. *

Is the wheelchair accessible entrance to the building the main entrance or a side/back entrance? If it was not the main entrance, was it clearly marked and was the door unlocked? Please explain. *
When you last voted there, were voting machines and wheelchair height stations set up in a way that a voter's privacy was protected? If not, please explain. *
If you used an accessible voting machine, please describe your experience - with particular attention to if the machine was easy to navigate, if the poll workers were helpful/knowledgeable, etc.
Did poll workers seem knowledgeable about and/or interested in accessibility for voters with disabilities? Please explain. If you don't know, please say "I don't know." *
