Our application process will consist of this application form and a short interview where you will have the opportunity to showcase yourself and why you would be a fit for your selected position(s).
Here is a breakdown of the application process (the graphic designer role is an exception):
- June 22, 2025 | Applications Released
- July 1, 2025 | Google Form Deadline
- July 2, 2025 | Results Released
- July 3, 2025 | Interview Stage Begins for Selected Candidates
- July 15, 2025 | Final Results Announced

Co-President** (2)
- Create and execute on the yearly timeline for all logistical, promotional, and event-planning activities
- Analyze the target market and create a marketing strategy for the year
- Tracking contact lists for all external business relations
- Understand the goal of YRChess to a great level to convince prospective sponsors to collaborate
- Inviting IMs, NMs, or GMs for attendance.
- Contacting local chess clubs or organizations for casual chess promotion
Secretary (1)
- Take meeting minutes and track attendance
- Revise bylaws and create additional legal documents as needed

VP Logistics (1)
- Tracking and managing Inventory
- Ordering consumables for the venue
- Finding a suitable venue (note: very difficult, will need help of others in team)
- Planning and coordinating event logistics (Prizes, Schedule, Floor Set-up)
Logistics Coordinator (3)
- Manage on-site logistics during events and activities
- Coordinate event setup, equipment, and scheduling
- Ensure smooth execution of logistical plans
- Assist with contingency planning and problem resolution
Communications Specialist (3)
- Managing yrchessassociation@gmail.com account and responding to any questions
- Obtaining sponsorships from various educational institutions/school boards and local businesses
- Drafting emails to participants and volunteers
- Communicating with school club heads and providing information
- Creating sign-up forms

- Develop and manage overall marketing strategy
- Creating a social media schedule for different posts to go out
- Oversee social media, web, and graphic teams
- Plan campaigns to promote the organization’s initiatives
Graphic Designer (3)
- Creating digital resources (i.e. logos, banners, advertisements, sponsorship materials etc.)
- Creating Instagram posts
- Designing stickers as well as other merchandise.
- Videography and photography during events
Web Developer (2)
- Developing and maintaining the website (www.yrchess.com), ensuring all information is up-to-date
- Based on skillset, creating interactive activities to improve website retention and sponsor outlook
- SEO

- Tracking financial transactions using financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, profit/loss statements)
- Creating financial documents (invoices, etc.)
- Budgeting funds in coordination with all event-planning activities
- Estimating costs and pricing merchandise
