The funds will benefit The Richard B. Fried Fund for CARC, a permanent endowment administered by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
Here's how it will work: CARC will provide each artist with a 12 x 12 canvas (limit of three canvases per artist). Canvasses will be ready for pick up at Jerry’s Artarama in West Hartford after April 9, 2012.
Artists will create art on the 12x12 canvases and deliver them to ArtSpace on Thursday, June 7 from 4:00-8:00PM. Alternatively, they can be delivered to CARC at 110 Bartholomew Ave in Hartford Monday-Friday 9am-5pm before June 7. Please call before you come (860) 761-6699. We can also arrange art pick ups if needed - just give us notice ASAP.
The 12x12 works will be direct donations to CARC. However, for each 12x12 canvas donated, the artist will be able to show one of their existing artworks (size 4' x 5' max per piece), that can be available for sale in the exhibit. Artists will receive 85% of the proceeds from the sale of these pieces, while CARC will receive 15%. Contributing artists may attend the event at no cost (one ticket per artist). However, if donating artists would also like to participate in the art grab, they will pay the regular price:
($500/Winner’s Circle (first group of 2), $200/Exclusive VIP (second group of 10) , $100/VIP (next 18) or $50/GA). The Winner’s Circle will be the first 2 to “grab” art, The Exclusive VIP will be the next 10 to "grab" art, the VIP will be the next 18 to "grab" art, and the GA will "grab" the remaining art (The "grabbing" will be based on a lottery system to reduce chaos). The event will feature fabulous food, wine and music, along with 150 + eclectic art-loving guests.

Please only commit to this event 1) if you are going to create art, 2) if you can drop it off at ArtSpace on June 7 (or make other arrangements with Wendy) and 3) if you agree to pick up (or make arrangements for pick up ) of any unsold art at ArtSpace on Thursday June 14 after our closing reception (5-8pm). Again, alternative pick- up arrangements may be arranged as needed on a case by case basis but must be approved by Wendy before April 9.
