For decades, OCCRP has been exposing corruption and organized crime around the world. And yet, in many authoritarian countries, the darkness can feel unending. The impact of speaking truth to power in these countries isn’t just exposure or asset seizures, but arrest, intimidation or much worse.
That’s why we’re asking you to help spotlight the people who refuse to give up. We want to honor the unsung heroes confronting organized crime and corruption head-on: This could be someone holding the line against authoritarianism, a journalist under threat who keeps reporting, or an activist working for decades to enshrine transparency laws — or anyone at all.
OCCRP will select the winners in December, and each winner will receive $1,000. Hurry — nominations close November 30.
