Join the Port Arthur Community Action Network, Texas Physicians for Social Responsibility, and the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health for a Health Professional Environmental Justice Tour and Training focusing on the petrochemical industry and its health implications in Port Arthur, Texas, on August 2 & 3 (Friday and Saturday). The program will include: a tour of pollution sites near neighborhoods, followed by a community dinner in Port Arthur. On the second day, PCAN and health professionals will host a community health fair for fence-line communities, where health professionals will be able to contribute their skills.

All health professionals and health students are welcome. Unfortunately at this time all scholarships have been claimed. 

Whether this is your first event on environmental justice or your fiftieth, join us on this journey to confront environmental injustice, advocate for health equity, and make a tangible impact in the fight against petrochemical pollution. 

Participants are asked to arrive in Port Arthur by 1:30pm on August 2nd and programming will end at 2:00pm on August 3rd. We will be coordinating ride shares for folks departing from Houston, Galveston, San Antonio, and Austin.
