2024 Veterans "Songwriting" Workshop Registration Form

The 12th Annual Outer Banks Veterans Writing Workshop, "Songwriting" will be held at the UNC Coastal Studies Institute in Wanchese from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10.

Join Ron Capps, Jana Pochop, and Tony Rosario for a hands-on songwriting workshop.  Bring an instrument if you play one or work on your lyrics if you don’t. Day one topics include song structure, basic chord functions, and getting the most out of your lyrics. There will also be time to write some songs.  On day two we’ll talk about putting everything together and getting it out in front of an audience. Topics include home producing and recording, and the life and business of being a singer/songwriter.

Beginner and experienced songwriters are invited to participate in this two-day workshop that is free for Veterans, active-duty military and their family members.

Pre-registration is required. To register, please fill out the questions in the form below. Attendees will receive a confirmation email with more details after registration.

The workshop will accommodate up to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Outer Banks Veterans Writing Workshop is part of Outer Banks Veterans Week, which will take place in November.

Modeled after the Veterans Writing Project, a non-profit foundation that teaches combat Veterans to express their military experiences through literature, the goal of the Outer Banks Veterans Writing Project is to teach enrolled applicants the art of writing.
