The site will be open for walk-ins or appointments on February 6, March 5 and April 2. Weekday sessions will be available on Tuesday afternoons and possibly other days if volunteers are available.
To prepare returns, you can either self-study on-line or attend an in person training and then certify on line. Software training will be scheduled individually.
You decide how much time you want to commit. The training and certification for new preparers will take approximately 8-12 hours. Returning preparers must re-certify but it should not take as long. We ask that you commit to a minimum of 16 hours.
Opportunities are also available that do not require tax preparation certification. We are looking for greeters, clerical assistants, marketing specialists, and receptionists. We will need someone to help with marketing, including frequently updating Facebook and Twitter.
