Ohio Dairy Goat Youth,

Do you love dairy goats? Would you like to help spread the word about dairy goats? If so, consider applying to be a 2026 Ohio Dairy Goat Association Youth Ambassador.

The Youth Ambassador position is open to youth (boys and girls) who are an Ohio resident and a member of the Ohio Dairy Goat Association.

• The Junior Ambassador will be selected from contestants who will be 12-16 years old on or before January 1, 2026.

• The Senior Ambassador will be selected from contestants who will be 17-21 years old on or before January 1, 2026.

• In the event you have applied previously and won, you will not be considered for the next year. If no applicants apply, the current Youth Ambassador will be notified to see if they will consider serving again.

• There are requirements for this position, if the following are not attended you will lose the title. 

• Membership consists of the following: Group: This membership is open to family, farm, or herd groups who support the constitutional purpose of the Association, OR Junior membership: Any reputable individual under 18 years of age may be a Junior member.

By applying for a Youth Ambassador position, you agree to represent ODGA by attending as many ODGA events as possible. The requirement is that Ambassadors attend the Ohio State Fair Dairy Goat Show, the ODGA Buckeye Classic Show, and the ODGA Fall Conference (if there is one the current year). Ambassadors may also attend any state and regional club shows representing ODGA.  Ambassadors may submit a written article with a dairy goat topic of their choice for the ODGA Newsletter for National Dairy Goat Awareness in June.

The submission deadline for this application is December 31, 2024. Applications are to be submitted to President Tammy Gottfried by this google doc form. Applicants will be interviewed  Applicants will be interviewed on January 10, 2026. Your time will be emailed or texted to you.

If this applicant is chosen as an ODGA Youth Ambassador, I agree to support them by ensuring they attend as many ODGA functions as possible. All ODGA ambassadors must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all functions. Expected attire for ODGA Ambassadors while attending ODGA functions is dress casual, and clean dairy show whites are acceptable if the youth is showing at the event. Ambassadors will be representing ODGA at public events and passing out ribbons and awards at shows and with this in mind, their dress and manners should always set a good example.

ODGA has my permission to photograph and publish photographs of my child within the bounds of their Ambassador service in newsletters, newspapers, the ODGA website, and on the ODGA Facebook Group page. The Youth Ambassador application and accompanying photographs become the property of ODGA.
