Teams Available

As an academic delegate, you will be formed in teams of three where you will analyze a complex business case study. You will present your findings and professional recommendations to a panel of industry judges. We are looking for students who are critical thinkers, confident presenters, and have a knack for solving business problems. Below are the ten academic teams to apply for:

• Accounting
• Business Strategy
• Business Technology
• Entrepreneurship
• Finance
• Human Resources
• International Business
• Marketing
• Not-For-Profit
• Operations Management

As a team of four, debate delegates compete against other schools in a parliamentary-style battle of rhetoric. In a head-to-head style battle, you will be discussing the most contentious social issues of our day. We are looking for charismatic students who are balanced, quick under pressure, and well-versed in current events.

As a team of four, social delegates will compete against other schools in challenges who will be living in 'variety game show' during the whole competition. You'll be tasked to solve puzzles, problem solving, and overcome different challenges as a team and displaying school spirit.

While the challenges you will face with every team differ, we expect all applicants to understand the rigorous commitment that the BCIT JDC West club thrives on. We are hard workers who love to challenge ourselves, grow our potential, and overcome obstacles. We plan on building a strong team culture and will be training/practicing hard until competition time in January.

Best of luck on your application!
