SAFEGUARDING AGREEMENT

Every child or young person, defined as any person under the age of 18, who attends the SUMMER FAYRE event should be able to do so in an enjoyable and safe environment. This is the responsibility of every adult involved in the event.

Burgess Hill Town Council recognises its responsibilities to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people and is determined to meet its obligation to ensure that those clubs and organisations who participate in SUMMER FAYRE do so, to the highest possible standard of care.

These procedures apply to anyone involved in SUMMER FAYRE, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity. For example, club volunteers, instructors, and club officials.

By filling in this Google form I state that I understand and agree to abide by the good practice guidelines below. In addition, as the lead for my club I will act in a supervisory capacity to ensure attendees from my club also understand and agree to these guidelines.

I agree:

Not to take young people’s details, including personal and contact details, without consent from the adult responsible for them. To treat all young people/disabled adults equally, and with respect and dignity. If any form of manual/physical support is required, to provide it openly and with the permission of the young person and the adult responsible for them. To immediately refer any injury that occurs as a result of my activity, to the event First Aid team. To alert the First Aid Team if I am concerned about the welfare of any child or vulnerable person attending the event.
