One school wide goal this year is "to improve students independence and agency around reading?" At the beginning of the year students completed reading surveys. Part of the survey asked students to share what books they would wish to see added to the classroom library. Many requested informational text and magazines. In an effort to increase students excitement over informational texts and current issues . We would like to subscribe to Time For Kids. To foster this excitement and add to our libraries. We also feel this venue is perfect for helping to build fluency and comprehension as the multiple copies can be used for small group or buddy reading work.
