In 1979, Roy Deeb discovered a community need and sought a way to fill it. Out of the heartbreaking story of a desperate, pregnant teenager, a place of hope and comfort was born: ALPHA House of Pinellas County, Inc.
As the only residential maternity program in Pinellas County, the primary mission of ALPHA is to provide housing and supportive services to homeless pregnant teenagers and women, so that they can become mothers with the job skills education, parenting skills, positive self-esteem and spiritual foundation necessary for them to obtain permanent housing, successfully raise their children and contribute to the community.

The secondary missions of ALPHA are to provide supportive services to new mothers with infants and to families experiencing crisis pregnancies, and to raise community awareness of the needs of pregnant women.

For the past ten years, the ALPHA Board of Directors has sought to recognize and honor a community leader whose life’s work exemplifies the same tireless dedication to the underserved and disadvantaged population of Pinellas communities as did ALPHA’s Founder, Roy Deeb.

A nominee must be an adult who is active in providing humble service to those in need, and who reflects the
values of:
• Service • Reverence and love for all of life
• Joyfulness of spirit • Humility

The 2019 Marvelous Mom(s) Award will be presented at the ALPHA Awards Luncheon.

The event will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at The Club at Treasure Island. All proceeds will benefit the
ALPHA House of Pinellas County, Inc.
