UNITE HERE!, the union of 275,000 members in North America, builds working class power in the hospitality industry, and this gives us the basis for building power in politics, too. Because of our strength in Las Vegas and Reno, we have a unique ability to impact statewide elections.

In this year's midterm election, we are working to defeat incumbent Republican Senator Dean Heller, by electing Congresswoman Jacky Rosen, which will give us our best chance to break Republican control of the U.S. Senate. In addition in the race for Governor, we are working to elect Steve Sisolack, a reliably pro-labor candidate, who is facing off against Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, a Trump ally.

In Reno, UNITE HERE! is running a door-to-door canvassing campaign with 40 worker leaders, where we have conversations with targeted voters.  This is the single most important thing that we can do to determine the outcome of the 2018 midterm election.
