The AFT Michigan Queer Caucus is open to dues-paying union members affiliated with AFT Michigan, as well as paid staff organizers employed at AFT Michigan locals or individuals connected to newly-organized bargaining units, who identify as LGBTQIA+.

The group meets monthly via zoom to socialize, build union power and organizing skills to increase protections and rights of LGBTQIA+ workers, and offer mutual support while navigating our professional lives as queer people. Queer Caucus also plans in-person events. While we appreciate supportive non-queer allies at our events and actions, Queer Caucus meetings are designed for union members who identify as LGBTQIA+.
