Purpose:
To encourage and support the activity of creative writing. Each workshop will be a bare-bones, enthusiasts approach to the topic of the day, taught by a staff member of The Muse Writers Center who is also a member of the online Insecure Writer's Support Group. This is an opportunity to explore and or practice some genre-specific craft basics and write in the company of other writers.
Workshop Conduct Standards - conducted in a positive
manner, encouraging growth and inclusion for all. Writers should be treated
equally and fairly no matter who they are or what genre they write.

2:00 Topic introduction with basic terms to know.
2:05 Topic-based discussion and brainstorming.
2:25 Topic-based prompt (writing time).
2:45 Time to share and or reflect on words written.
2:55 Closing remarks and transition to support group.
About Toi Thomas:
Toi has been a long-time member of the
online IWSG community and is a hybrid published author, deeply connected to the
indie community. Toi is a reading advocate, animal lover, and holistic health enthusiast
promoting her Knauthenic lifestyle. Toi has a background in computer science
and education, is currently working as the Education Program Associate at the
Muse Writers Center in Norfolk, VA, was formerly the admin of the IWSG book
club, and is a repeat guest speaker at RavenCon. Toi is known for her
multi-genre short fiction and picture books but is currently working on a
rewrite of her first novel series as well as a memoir about her health and food
