The San Antonio Hotel & Lodging Association scholarship fund seeks to financially assist San Antonio students who have demonstrated a desire to pursue a career in the hotel and hospitality industry.
Each student applicant must comply with the eligibility and selection criteria and requirements of the San Antonio Hotel & Lodging Association.
The SAHLA Scholarship Fund awards funds to graduating high school seniors and/or current undergraduate students pursuing a major in a hospitality related field at an accredited institution.
Eligible candidates must:
Be pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a hospitality related field OR have the intent to utilize another degree to enter the hospitality industry and must be enrolled at least part-time
OR
Be a high school senior graduating May 2026 with plans to pursue an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a hospitality related field
- Part-time is defined as a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester; full-time is defined as a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester
- Associate candidates can receive up to $1,000 for full-time enrollment or $500 for part-time enrollment
- Baccalaureate candidates can receive up to $2,000 for full-time enrollment or $1,000 for part-time enrollment
To apply, eligible candidates should submit a 350-word (or more) essay detailing 1) what inspired them to pursue a career in hospitality and 2) their post graduate career objectives.
Scholarship funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition and educational fees only. Winning recipients will have a check forwarded directly to their respective educational institution to be applied toward educational expenses.
If selected, please indicate if you are you able to attend the San Antonio Pineapple Awards Gala on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel.
Applications will be reviewed and final selections will be notified by November 10.
