All currently enrolled 7th and 8th-grade students in a public, private or home school located in San Benito County are invited to participate in this preliminary round of competition.  The competition will consist of a fifty-word written spelling test which may include any of the words on the www.sbcoe.org website practice list.
                   
The test can be taken on a Chromebook or on paper. Please bring 2 pencils and an eraser in the event you have to take the test on paper.

After the preliminary round of competition, the top twenty-five spellers will advance to the county championship on February 6, 2019.  First and second place county champions will go on to represent San Benito County at the State Spelling Bee.

This form registers you for the 2020 Preliminary Elementary Spelling Bee to be held on January 23, 2020, at 5:30 pm in the multipurpose room at Ladd Lane School.

Completion of this form with a parent's name assumes approval of the student's name and picture to be used in any San Benito County Office of Education or other authorized public publications.
