The Friends of Peabody Preserve Outdoor Classroom (PPOC) are thrilled to once again welcome the community to the Outdoor Classroom for weekend events and programs.

The Peabody Preserve Outdoor Classroom is at 611 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow across from Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. The entrance is marked with a big red sign:
"Peabody Athletic Fields/Peabody Preserve Outdoor Classroom"

Bi-lingual events:

* Walking tour to the event from Beekman Ave to PPOC led by Superintendent Dr. Ray Sanchez and 
   PPOC naturalist Carol Vinzant
* Learn to make seed bombs with HS student, Isabella Bencosme, the seed bomb expert
* Fiesta de Flores-FlowerFEST-Cumbia for Kids spring music workshop led by local musicians 
   Pablo and Anna   Mayor of Folklore Urbano NYC in and around Peabody's pollinator garden
* Games on the Field

* Tracy Brown: Riverkeeper President and PPOC co-founder leads water-related exploration
* Grand Opening of Peabody's Mini Nature Center and Library
* Dramatic Readings 


"THE WIZARD OF OZ" at PEABODY PRESERVE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM!

Calling all Student Actors Grades 2-12!!

This Spring, you're off to see the Wizard at the Peabody Preserve Outdoor Classroom! Journey Over the Rainbow, and watch as young Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz to embark on a quest with three new friends to find the wonderful Wizard - and the greatest adventure of their lives!  

The Peabody Preserve Outdoor Classroom and Anywhere Theatre Company present "THE WIZARD OF OZ",  a reading performance for young people grades 2 - 12! Led by local director and educator Peter Royston, this interactive and immersive production will lead you through the winding paths of the Peabody Preserve to help Dorothy find her way home! 

REHEARSAL:

Saturday, May 11
Rain Date: Sunday, May 12
Grades Kindergarten - 3 @ 10:30 am - noon
Grades 4-12 @ Noon - 2:00 pm 

PERFORMANCE DATE AND FINAL REHEARSAL

FINAL REHEARSAL FULL CAST:  Saturday, May 18 @ 11am-1pm
PERFORMANCE: Saturday, May 18 @ 1 pm
Rain Date: Sunday, May 19 @ 1pm


INTERGENERATIONAL CAPTURE THE FLAG Community Event 

Date and Time: Friday, May17 @ 5:30-7:30 pm
Rain Date: TBD if needed

For folks young and old who want to play rousing and exhausting rounds of Capture the Flag
AND
For folks who want to hang out on the sidelines on blankets while cheering on and watching the ridiculousness on the field.
