Thank you for your interest in becoming a Board Member of the Catalino Tapia Scholarship Foundation (CTSF). We really appreciate it, and wouldn't be able to fulfill our mission without your support!

ABOUT CTSF
Founded by Catalino Tapia, a Mexican immigrant living in the Bay Area, CTSF has a 17-year history. Don Catalino did not study beyond sixth grade but was inspired to invest in immigrants and people of color with college dreams when he witnessed his son, Noel, graduate from law school at UC Berkeley.

CTSF provides scholarships, workshops, mentoring programs, and technology stipends to first-generation students who face significant barriers to getting a higher education. CTSF programs are offered to scholars in San Mateo, Alameda, Santa Clara, and San Francisco.

The Catalino Tapia Scholarship Foundation has 3 standing committees: (1) Fundraiser & Communications  (2) Finance & Governance, (3) Award & Scholarship Committee. Please check all that you would be interesting in joining.

The Catalino Tapia Scholarship Foundation's board is an exciting and engaged working board. Board members are required to participate in a remote-monthly board meeting on the second Monday of each month. Except on July and December.

Committee members are expected to meet in a regular basis depending on each committee.

Fundraising Committee & Communications meets on the first Tuesday of each month.

Finance & Governance Committee meets once per month on the first Wednesday of each month.

Award & Scholarship Committee meets on the first Thursdays of each month during off scholarship cycles (June through August). Twice per week on Thursdays during scholarship cycles, program planning and implementation.

All board members are also encouraged to participate in fundraising and development activities, which include support on Award Recognition Events, or as a mentor.. Board members are expected to commit to the role for a minimum of one year.
