We are currently unable to provide you a copy of this form for your records. We recommend you make note of classes as you sign up for them.

After receiving your form we will send you an email confirming your selection. If you have not received a confirmation from us within a week, please let us know.

In the fall, after the first week of classes, you will receive a bill for all of your After School activities.

    PLEASE NOTE:

    Cycle 1 classes run from Monday, September 22, 2014 through Thursday, February 12, 2015. Certain classes do not run for the full length of the cycle and are offered "with Kids Club/Our Place" for an extra cost. This means that after your child's class has ended they will be able to attend Kids Club (for 4/5s & 5/6s) or Our Place (for 6/7s & Up) from 3:00 to 4:30 (or whenever the class normally meets) for the remainder of the cycle.

    Kids Club and Our Place

    Unlike most classes, Our Place (for 6/7s and Up) is available starting Tuesday, September 9 and Kids Club (for 4/5s and 5/6s) is available starting Tuesday, September 16. Kids Club for 4/5s and 5/6s. Offered Monday-Thursday 3-6pm and Friday 1-6pm. Runs from 9/16/14 to 2/12/15. Kids Club offers children the opportunity to develop and grow through art activities, simple cooking, block building, movement, dramatic play, stories, and deck time. The After School Staff considers it their responsibility to provide an atmosphere that is both caring and nurturing for children at this important time of day. Our Place for 6/7s and Up. Offered Monday-Thursday 3-6pm and Friday 1-6pm. Runs from 9/9/14 to 2/12/15. Our Place is a special after school setting that offers children the opportunity to plan, create, and choose their own activities. Time is set aside for outdoor play, indoor games, art projects, healthy snacks, and other activities.

    Class Descriptions

    Golf WAITING LIST ONLY 4/5s - 6/7s with Kate Tempesta's Urban Golf Academy (KTUGA): KTUGA's mission is to bring golf to urban environments and to share this wonderfully beneficial sport with children, both on and off the golf course. Their dynamic methods include combining a variety of child-friendly, modified equipment with traditional equipment in a mixture of fun, creative golf drills and games. Players will learn and practice the four basic shots as well as the rules and etiquette of golf. They work in both indoor and outdoor settings and create various stations that act as our golf course. The KTUGA program not only promotes physical literacy needed in any sport, but also ensures that each child is actively engaged and having fun. By the end of this program children will possess the skills and enthusiasm necessary to advance into this game of a lifetime. 9 sessions, ends 11/24 $405. Golf with Kids Club/Our Place starting 12/1 $505 The Paris Café NEW 5/6s with Maria Marino: It's never too early to learn a new language and doing so can open doors to the music, culture, cooking, & art of France! This course will be a fun introduction to the French language and culture through songs, skits, art and cooking activities. By the end of the course, the students will have developed a good grasp of basic conversational French while discovering the wonders of French culture. 17 sessions $595 Capoeira NEW WAITING LIST ONLY 5/6s & 6/7s with Gustavo Caldas: The students will enjoy an amazing Afro-Brazilian martial arts, which incorporates balance, rhythm, and music. It will help them build strength and endurance, and prepare them for self-defense. During class, they will learn Capoeira songs, which will assist them with learning the Brazilian Portuguese language and better understanding the culture. 17 sessions $595 Woodworking WAITING LIST ONLY 5/6s & Up: Enjoy the challenge of working with wood. Children will work on their own projects and be introduced to an array of new tools. All material fees included. 17 sessions $510 Chess II for 7/8s & Up with Howard Kipp Parker: This program is for the advanced beginner and will focus on learning various chess positions and the benefits of thinking several moves ahead. 17 Sessions, $565 Dribbl 7/8s & Up with Dalton Coaches: Since 1995, Dribbl has been teaching kids of all ages the fundamentals of basketball, in a fun and safe environment. We like to focus on things like teamwork and sportsmanship rather than points and trophies. That said, we want our young athletes to walk away knowing how to handle the ball. So we hire the most passionate, talented coaches the City has to offer . . . we make sure they’re real nice, too. 7 sessions, ends 11/10 $280. Dribbl with Our Place starting 11/17 $400 Shakespeare WAITING LIST ONLY 8/9s - 12/13s, 3:30-5:00pm with John Regis and Laura Sametz: After School Shakespeare is a yearlong acting class that explores the stories, language and world of Shakespeare and his plays. This year’s play will be his outrageous comedy, Twelfth Night aka What You Will, which recently had a hit run on Broadway. It centers on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck but are brought together with the Countess Olivia who falls in love with Viola (who is disguised as a boy), and Sebastian, who in turn falls in love with Olivia. Madcap fun prevails with the members of Olivia's household. The program takes the children through all phases of a production, and their year will conclude with an invited dress rehearsal and an evening performance. The play’s the thing! Note: this class will go half an hour longer each class till 5pm which will give us more rehearsal time. 17 sessions $545 Private Voice Lesson 10/11s & Up with Jodie Levinson: Jodie’s class will focus on strengthening the voice through warmups, breathing and singing songs. Students will pick a handful of tunes from which to work to expand range, style and musical tastes.     Class Descriptions

    Quick Start Tennis WAITING LIST ONLY 4/5s & 5/6s and 6/7s & 7/8s: Children learn basic strokes more easily because the equipment and the court are age and size appropriate. They have more fun playing games and doing drills where they can experience success. Young players feel what it's like to "play tennis" and can easily progress to play, lessons, and competition on full size courts. 8 sessions, ends 11/11 $340. Tennis with Kids Club/Our Place starting 11/18 $450 After School Science 5/6s to 7/8s: Join us as we have fun looking at our world with scientific eyes. Each class will be focused on a different subject such as dry ice or sharks. By the end we will have explored the creatures of the ocean, the magic of chemistry, and so much more! 12 sessions, ends 12/9 $475. Science with Kids Club/Our Place starting 12/16 $560 Coolinary Creations 5/6s & Up with Coolinary Kitchen: Each Coolinary Kitchen class will provide children the opportunity to hone their chopping skills and learn techniques such as sautéing, grilling, boiling, baking, sauces, and more. Recipes range from sweet to savory and students will be given a chance to create an original recipe as a cohesive group in their final class. Cooking lessons give children a boost of self-esteem, feeling of accomplishment and a new outlet for creativity. Let’s have fun in the kitchen and cook up a tasty treat! 19 sessions $600 Chess I for 6/7 & Up with Howard Parker: WAITING LIST ONLY This is a program for the beginning player to build chess skills in a non-competitive environment. We will focus on learning various chess positions and the benefits of thinking several moves ahead.     Class Descriptions

    Super Soccer Stars 5/6s & 6/7s: It is our goal to teach soccer skills in a fun noncompetitive, educational environment. Our philosophy is to nurture, build self-confidence and to develop teamwork in every class. Our specially designed curriculum uses positive reinforcement and a low child-to-coach ratio to ensure that each child improves at his or her own rate while having endless fun. Each class focuses on conditioning and the basic fundamentals of dribbling, passing, defending and shooting. 18 sessions $585 Hand Sewing 5/6s & Up with Nelly Agron: Creating, through the delicate art of sewing, has never been so much fun. Students will construct their very own projects such as a stuffed animals, pillows, dolls, or handbags, all made from bright and colorful fabrics. 18 sessions $595 Wizardly Wonders 5/6s & Up with Hobby Quest: Abracadabra, hocus pocus, this fall make MAGIC your focus! Aspiring young magicians will learn all the tricks of the trade in this fun-filled foray into the wondrous world of magic. We’ll learn to perform illustrious illusions such as the ANTI-GRAVITY CARD LEVITATION, where we'll cause a card to rise straight up from our hand with nothing more than a few magic words. We'll also master the art of making things disappear and reappear again with the DISAPPEARING DECK, causing a deck of cards to vanish and return right before our audience eyes. And in case you like mysteries we'll also solve the MYSTERY OF THE MISSING SOCK. Using only a sheet of paper you'll make missing socks appear out of nowhere with just the snap of you fingers! Each week we’ll learn these and many other fabulous feats of illusion to take home and show off to our friends and family. In fact, in our class you'll learn so many tricks you'll have to “hide” them up both your sleeves (and maybe even your shorts too)! 18 sessions $595 Tap Dance 6/7s & Up with Laura Klos-Gunther: Tap is the perfect combination of rhythm and motion. This unique dance form offers children the opportunity to improve their balance and timing while having fun.Warm-up exercises, various combinations, and short dance routines will be introduced.     Exploring Clay WAITING LIST ONLY 4/5s - 6/7s with Diana Jensen: Pinching, pulling, poking, pounding, rolling... There are so may ways to change clay! Through individual and group work with clay, students will explore the different sculptural possibilities of this material, and the many ways it can be used to make designs and tell stories. SFC art teacher Diana Jensen, who teaches all children in the 4/5s through 6/7s, will support children in their growth as clay artists. 16 sessions $525 Junior Sports Sampler 5/6s and 6/7s with Roll America coaches: The sports include waffle ball, soft soccer and other games such as races, freeze tag and other activities to keep the children in a world of diversity. 8 sessions, ends 12/4 $320. Sports with Kids Club or Our Place starting 12/11 $420 Fashion Design 7/8s & Up with Nelly Agron Learn to develop and draw fundamental fashion figures and garment details. Learn principals of color.     Broadway Bound WAITING LIST ONLY 5/6s & 6/7s with Broadway Bound Kids: Every child gets their chance to shine in Broadway Bound. This class helps bring out the creativity of each child through singing, dancing, acting and theater games. We'll learn songs from Broadway shows and we'll make up some of our own dance moves. This class gives kids a fun place to express themselves. Broadway Bound Kids is in it's 6th year of provided unique performing arts classes for kids in the New York area. Our teachers are extremely talented teaching artists who customize each class to meet the needs of the students. 14 sessions $500 Jewelry Making 5/6s & Up with Nelly Agron: Students will enjoy beading and making wire jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and more. Wrapping and coiling beaded flowers all add to the fun. No previous experience is required. 14 sessions $495 Seido Karate WAITING LIST ONLY 7/8s & 8/9s with Karin Ferber Hillman: Children will learn focus, respect, self defense, decision making, teamwork, coordination, self-discipline, and strong self esteem. 14 sessions $560 Sports Sampler 7/8s & 8/9s with Roll America coaches: In this diverse multi-sport program, each week children will be introduced to a different sport, learn new skills, and then separate into teams to play a game. Sports include Baseball, Football, Floor Hockey and more. Students will also play Ultimate Frisbee, Power Ball, and an array of other great games to keep them involved in a world of movement, variety, and fun. Ricky has been teaching at Bank Street since 2000, and has been coaching numerous athletic teams such as Basketball, Football, soccer, volleyball, and softball.     1. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 2. A class may be canceled if enrollment becomes insufficient to support it. 3. Fees are fully refundable until after the first class. 4. A late fee of $35 will be charged for registration received after Monday, October 13. 5. Registration for classes is currently online, payment for classes is not. After registering online you will receive an email confirming your slot in the class. After the first week of classes you will receive a bill which you can pay by check or credit card. 6. Registration is finalized when payment is received. Drop-in service payment ($12/hour) for Kids Club or Our Place can be payed on the day of service by check or credit card. If you intend to use our drop-in service please make sure to let us know beforehand. 8. Classes run from 3pm to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 1pm to 2:30pm on Fridays unless otherwise noted. Kids Club and Our Place end at 6pm. 9.
