There is still a lack of awareness of remote job opportunities and the employers who hire remotely in our local communities. Since remote employers do not advertise their jobs locally, many people in regional areas are not fully aware of the jobs that are available to them or the skills needed to land them.Through our consultations with employers we know that access to talent and skills remains a top challenge. At an employer event organised by Grow Remote, talent came up as one of the top business challenges, with one employer stating that ‘Ireland is a great place to work remotely, but not a great place to hire remotely’.
Organisations are struggling to fill open positions with the right talent, even when these roles are available remotely. Given the lack of awareness in regional areas of remote work opportunities referenced above, we see a clear opportunity to connect employers looking for talent with the talent that is located in our local communities.
We are holding a virtual, collaborative forum on Thursday, March 21st at 11am. We'll bring you through our programmes to date, and identify ways we can support your hiring programmes and CSR initiatives.
Please fill out the form below if you're interested in hearing more about the multiple initiatives we are planning and joining our workshop.
