CERTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL CONFLICTS (SIGNATURE REQUIRED)
I certify that I will make professors aware of any potential conflicts of interest in my Clinic case work. I certify that I have reviewed the D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct, in particular, Rules 1.7, 1.8 and 1.9, and that I will utilize these Rules as a guide to identify potential conflicts of interest and notify my professor of them immediately.

I further certify that, to the extent possible, I will resolve any identified conflicts in favor of my clinic client, i.e., I will choose to conduct the case work in the clinic as opposed to choosing to conduct work for another entity due to this identified conflict.

Do you expect to be employed by or interning/externing with a government entity while enrolled in a clinic?
CERTIFICATION OF LIMITATION ON PAID OR UNPAID EMPLOYMENT
I certify that I am not scheduled to work more than twenty (20) hours per week, nor will I work more than twenty (20) hours per week at any job (paid or unpaid, in-school or out of school) during the semester(s) in which I am enrolled in any clinic or externship. I understand that my work in the clinic (including, but not limited to, the weekly seminars, meetings with clients, intake duties, my individual work on cases or matters and supervisory meetings) MAY REQUIRE TWENTY (20) HOURS OF WORK PER WEEK. I recognize that, with respect to some clinic matters, I will be required to allocate more than twenty (20) hours of work per week to my Clinic duties.

I also understand that faculty supervisors in the Clinic cannot and do not give permission for me to skip other classes in which I am enrolled. I understand that I am to coordinate my various obligations so that they are least likely to conflict with one another. I also understand that my responsibilities to my clients are of paramount importance, and that outside employment or internship schedules may have to bend to accommodate the requirements of the Clinic. I make this Certification regarding outside work with full understanding that employment of more than 20 hours per week outside of the Clinic may jeopardize my ability to render the highest quality of service to my clients and on my case matters. I further understand that to render anything less than the highest quality of service to my clients or cases is a breach of my duty of professional responsibility and of the policy of the Clinical Law Center. I make this certification about my work limitations and my professional responsibilities freely and without any intent to mislead or to deceive.
