I always thought I knew what a sandwich was, but it turns out the entire concept is more complex than you think. Help me with my research for my Accents & Dialects class (and with my peace of mind) by crowdsourcing the definition of a sandwich.
In this survey, you will be shown several pictures of food items (34 total), which you will then rate on a sliding scale (1-6) based on the very scientific concept of "sandwichness." Therefore, I'm not asking you to answer yes/no on whether something is a sandwich; I believe there is sometimes grey area in the murky world of sandwich definition. Some things can be more sandwich-like than others, and that's what makes this "defining a sandwich" thing so darn difficult!
You will also be given the option to comment on the sandwichness of any picture--if you see something that is the quintessential sandwich for you, or something that based on its ingredients you are offended by its very inclusion (it happens--talking about sandwiches is a very emotional journey for all of us), feel free to tell me about it there.
Thanks for your contribution to this groundbreaking and potentially life-changing scientific study.
