Dear MMI Caregiver

Your child has pre-registered with MMI to compete in the AIMS Canoeing.

We are in the process of committing to this registration with the NZAIMS association. 

Once we do this, there is an expectation that your child will be fully available for their code, they will show commitment in training and have all the necessary equipment to compete.  

Please note that once the registration has been completed there is no refund if your child pulls out of the event. Costs associated with each code are still being finalised, however, we will let you know soon. 

For most of the individual codes, they compete for a large part of the week, therefore your child cannot be part of a team code.

It is important that your child has had previous experience in kayaking. 

MMI does not arrange training for this code so all training needs to be directed form home.

There are two events Canoe Racing and Canoe Slalom. Your child can compete ion one event or both

For canoe Racing there is practice day on Saturday 2nd September at McLarens Falls Park and the competition on the following Tuesday at Pilot Bay

For the slalom competition  Practice day at McLaren Falls Park on Saturday , time trials are on Sunday and head to head racing Monday 4th Sept.
