Hacks/Hackers Connect is an event series made possible through a new partnership between Google News Lab and Hacks/Hackers Inc. --  a global network of more than 40,000 journalists & technologists -- to agitate for more media entrepreneurship.

On Friday May 13th and Saturday May 14th, Hacks/Hackers Miami will bring Hacks/Hackers Connect to South Florida!

Hosted at The Idea Center at Miami-Dade College, Connect seeds new media ventures, grows deeper connections within the community and attracts new collaborators! The event will tackle innovation throughout the digital space in journalism — virtual reality, data journalism and product management, just to name a few.

There will be 50+ national industry leaders contributing to the program. Contributors include: Jennifer Brandel, Co-Founder and CEO at Hearken, Hillary Frey, Co-Chief Creative Officer at Matter Studios, Bharat Krish, Corporate Vice President IT (CIO) at HBO Latin America, and Edward "Ed" Rodriguez, Vice President of Americas Marketing at Citrix.

The intimate event is for creative, engaged and passionate media & technology professionals.
