Dissertation and Thesis Boot Camp Application

Dissertation and Thesis Boot Camp is designed to support graduate students who are working on their dissertations and theses to meet their writing goals by providing a quiet and supportive writing environment. The week long event includes workshops as well s dedicated writing time in the library to help participants better understand and practice healthy writing habits. Included in the $20 fee to participate is a light breakfast, lunch everyday and a support group of people who are also trying to achieve their writing goals.

As a participant of the boot camp, we expect that you will participate in the week long events to the best of your ability. In order to ensure accountability, and participation, a $40 deposit (separate from the $20 program fee) will be taken at the beginning of boot camp. If participants are present for 60% of the week's activities and writing hours, the $40 deposit will be returned at the completion of the boot camp. If participants fail to be present for the required amount of time, the $40 will go towards future boot camps. If an emergency or other unexpected event occurs that prevents a participant form being present, the $40 may be returned at the discretion of the Professional Development Committee.

In order to participate in Dissertation Boot Camp, February 2nd-7th, 2014, organized by the Graduate Student Association's Professional Development Committee, a completed application form must be sent submitted by Sunday, January 26th at Midnight. If you meet the qualifications for participation and there are still spots left, you will be contacted by January 30th.
