Meeting Location & Destination
We will be enhancing wildlife habitat by hand-planting native bitterbrush seedlings on the Lucky Fire that burned in 2019.          We will meet on site. Please park at the pullout on the left side of the Spring Shores/Middle Fork Road, which leaves  HWY 21  just after you cross Mores Creek Bridge, turn right, cross the large "cattle" guard, and park in the big pullout on the left before you turn the corner and reach Spring Shores Marina. 43°35'32.14"N, 115°59'35.76"W.
Please check one if you plan to attend this project. *

What you will need.
Plan to plant bitterbrush seedlings by hand. Training, tools and planting equipment is provided.  If you have a favorite planting tool like a small shovel or garden trowel, knee pads/kneeler, bring them along!  Seedling planting involves hiking, packing equipment, digging and bending over/kneeling to plant. Training is provided and crew leaders will be there to help. Seedlings are generally small and need to be planted carefully into a 6 to 8 inch small hole. The seedlings need to be handled gently.

Please remember to dress for early spring weather. You will need to bring layered clothing and boots or sturdy shoes, a hat, and sunscreen. It might be rainy, breezy and cool OR it might be sunny and warm.  Volunteer activities are subject to change due to weather and road conditions.

Come prepared!  You will need to bring a sack lunch and water for the day.  Bring a day pack to hold your food and extra layers.

There are no restrooms at the planting site, but the restrooms at Spring Shores may be open.

COVID-19 Protocol:  We are still mindful that Covid-19 is still circulating in our region and carries varying levels of risk for different people.  We still encourage mask wearing for morning group meetup and instruction time, with opportunities to be mask free and 6 feet away from others for most of the planting day in the great outdoors!  Please stay home if you are experiencing any cold/covid symptoms.
