The Seldovia Chamber of Commerce is soliciting nominations for the Seldovia Citizen or Business of the Year.  Nominations are welcomed from chamber membership as well as the public, giving all the opportunity to recognize and honor local individuals or businesses.

HOW TO NOMINATE:  Complete this nomination form online or you may pick up a hard copy and put it in the box in the post office lobby or, mail the form to: Seldovia Chamber of Commerce, PO Drawer F, Seldovia 99663.

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS:  Monday, November 2, 2026

HOW VOTING TAKES PLACE:  Active Chamber members who are present at the November 5, 2026 Chamber meeting will vote by ballot. 

THE CATEGORIES FOR AWARD: Achievements of the Nominee MUST be listed on Nomination Form to aid in the decision making process. Nominations without achievements listed will not be accepted.  All nomination forms must include the nominating party in case there are questions concerning the nomination. If no nominees meet the criteria, then the chamber reserves the right to forego selecting a winner for that year.

Citizen or Business of the Year

Only 1 honor will be awarded each year! 

CITIZEN of the Year:

You may nominate an Individual - Presented to an individual for their voluntary and extraordinary service to the community. This individual has donated countless hours of public service (not as part of an individual’s paid employment), or donated private funds to a Seldovia organization or cause, which benefits the community. This may also be an individual who has otherwise honorably distinguished him/her self through a heroic act, leadership or inspirational role, or other significant event.

OR

You may nominate a young person - Presented to a Seldovia youth (18 or under) who resides full-time in Seldovia. This award is to honor a young person who shows initiative in school and/or in the community.  This individual has a great work ethic, and is a positive role model to their peers, showing that they are already contributing as a responsible member of our community.  This honor will be awarded based on activities both inside and outside of school which contribute to the general improvement or well-being of the community.

OR

BUSINESS of the Year

You may nominate a business - Presented to an entity that during this past year has supported community activities and organizations above and beyond what would be normally expected, or whose projects and activities have contributed significantly to the well-being of the community.
