Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is offered to all Academica Nevada charter staff. CPI as written in your charter applications is to provide staff with Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training who directly intervene in crisis situations. CPI teaches staff de-escalation techniques as well as restrictive and nonrestrictive interventions.

* Verbal Intervention only (Excludes Physicals) - Typically for entire staff training
Training Delivery Options:
* Classroom Delivery (In-person) ~ Initial NCI Training (12-14 hours [2-days])
* Classroom Delivery (In-person) ~ Refresher NCI Training (6-8 hours [1 day])
* Flex Blended Learning (online modules and 6-8 hours of In-person training) ~ Initial
* Flex Blended Learning (online modules and 3-5 hours of In-person training) ~ Refresher
Fees:
* NCI Participant Training Manual - Initial/Classroom Delivery - $23.49 per participant (Required)

* NCI Flex Blended Learning Seat - $40.99 per participant - online access, downloadable Learner’s Guide, & Training Manual (Required)
* Verbal Intervention Training Manual - Classroom Delivery - $23.49 per participant (Required)
* Verbal Intervention Training Manual and Flex Blended Learning Seat - $39.99 (Required)
* Training Price: If the CPI trainer is not in your charter system or if the training takes place outside of contracted hours - $25.00 per participant (minimum requirement - 15 participants or $375 flat-rate [divided])
* The Participation Fee is paid to the system who paid for the trainer's training or to the trainer if the trainer uses PTO or conducts training outside of contracted hours.
* Travel expenses will be paid by the requesting charter. This includes airfare, hotel, car rental, and per diem if the trainer is training outside Las Vegas..

Training Frequency:
NCI training includes verbal de-escalation strategies and physical intervention techniques. Initial trainings are for staff who have never taken CPI or whose CPI certification has expired (wIthin 3 months - See Blue CPI Certification Card or reach out to your trainer). CPI certifications are good for 1 year.
