CEU Registration Form
We are excited to announce that our CEU courses for the Spring season. CEU courses take place from 8:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. and provide 2 CEU credits.  

In light of current health considerations, CEU courses will continue to take place via Zoom. All registrants will receive the course Zoom link, as well as hand-outs prior to the scheduled course. Following each course, participants will receive a link to an on-line evaluation form. Certificates will be emailed following completion of the course and upon receipt of the completed evaluation form. Please make sure to log into the course on time as credit cannot be offered for those who arrive after 8:45 a.m.

If you are not a Commonpoint Queens employee, the cost of each course is $50. You can register and pay on our website: https://www.commonpointqueens.org/ceu/

With legalization, marijuana use is on the rise. This course will focus on the risks and benefits of marijuana use, potential for abuse, and will discuss social workers’ professional response and responsibility. The use of medical marijuana will also be introduced. When and for whom should medical marijuana be prescribed? When are referrals for the use of medical marijuana indicated?

There are many kinds of groups: therapy, support, communal, activity, and multifamily among others and the role of the professional differs within each. Focus will be on how groups can be utilized to advance the tasks of the group, impact on group members, and how the professional uses oneself to achieve the group’s objectives. Special attention will be paid to how groups provide a powerful resource for professionals. Use of multifamily groups as a therapeutic tool will also be presented.
