Required so that we can match riders with horses able to carry them comfortably. (Note that as of 5/20/26, we only have space in this program for riders under 170#, due to the size of our horses.)

You don't need to have experience to attend this camp!  It's just helpful for us to know in advance.
Would you like to apply for the "advanced" riding track?

Here's the deal with speed. We mostly ride at a walk out on the trails; this is the safest for riders, the most relaxing and connective for horses, and the best speed to enjoy Ekone's gorgeous scenery! And in just three days of riding together, we don't have the capacity to teach everyone how to work with a horse effectively at faster speeds. It takes a LOT of practice, muscle, and balance development, especially to do it in a way that is kind, fair, and positive for the horses and appropriately safe in a less-controlled trail setting.

But some riders are ready for faster speeds on the trail, or are motivated to take some lessons (at a lesson barn near you) in advance of camp to prepare for the possibility. IF we have a cohort of such riders, AND the horses are ready, AND the conditions are right, we may do so! If you would like to be considered for this track, please send us a short video of yourself posting at a trot, and riding at a canter.

(Note that as of 5/20/26, we do not expect to have an advanced riding track this year, due to the reported skill level of current registrants. You are still welcome to tell us your preferences and we'll see what we can do, but no promises! Thanks for understanding.)
I understand that Ekone prioritizes safety of riders and well-being of horses!

And that may mean that we don't ride fast, regardless of which "track" we're in, among many other daily decisions based on what we're observing in horses, riders, and their relationship.
I understand that this program includes one 4-hour horse session each day, and for the rest of the day I can choose my own adventure ~ hiking, relaxing, art, reading etc ~ or join the Ekone staff in the projects of the day ~ garden, forestry, cooking, gravedigging, etc.

Please tell us whether you'd be paying the Base Rate or Restoration Rate (or requesting one of our two pay-what-you-can scholarship spots).
*
Base Rate covers the costs of the camp; Restoration Rate allows us to increase equitable access to Ekone's programs, steward this land well, and invest in the sustainability of the organization.  This question has no bearing on whether your application is accepted, just lets us know how much to invoice you for.
