South Carolina Flute Society Competition Application Form

The annual South Carolina Flute Society competitions are open for all flutists in each age category, listed below.
Three finalists for each Artist competition will be selected based on the submitted recordings to perform in the live finals on November 16 in South Carolina. Winners will be awarded cash prizes as listed below:
Junior Artist Competition | Grade 9 and Younger | $100 Cash Prize
Carolina Flutes by Musical Innovations Senior Artist Competition | Grades 10-12 | $100 Cash Prize
Contance G. Lane Memorial Collegiate Artist Competition | College Undergraduates | $400 Cash Prize
J.L Smith and Co. Young Artist Competition | All Flutists Post-Undergraduate | $600 Cash Prize
Four winners of the Masterclass Competition and one winner of the Junior Masterclass Competition will be selected to perform in a masterclass led by guest artist Claire Chase on November 16.
One winner of the new Composer Competition will have their flute solo performed by a member of the South Carolina Flute Society on a recital at the Fall Festival.
Application fees for each competition are $25. If applying to both the Artist Competition and the Masterclass Competition in your age category, the fees will total $50. All applicants must also register as members of the South Carolina Flute Society if they are not already members (application forms are available at
