Welcome to the 2026 RainSmart Yards questionnaire, the first step in becoming RainSmart Yard certified!  

*** The survey season runs from March through October.***

This questionnaire takes about 10 minutes to complete and prompts you with the criteria needed to gain certification. When you feel you are ready for a survey, you will find appointment scheduling instructions at the end of this questionnaire and in your post-questionnaire confirmation email. A RSY representative or trained volunteer will respond to your appointment request within 2 weeks. This visit is required to confirm your award status and answer any questions you may have. We encourage you to visit the educational resources linked in the questions and the confirmation email.
