Thank you for signing up for the Tryon International Equestrian Center's first Chalk Art Contest! We have 33 chalk art spaces available on a first come first serve basis. Each space is 9ftx9ft. This event is free and open to the public so we recommend signing up early! You are welcome to bring your own chalk to draw with or TIEC will have some standard sidewalk chalk available.
The rules for this event are as follows:
-- One artist per 9ftx9ft square
-- Only non-oil based, washable chalk may be used in your design. No acrylic paints, liquid
pastels, oil-based pastels, hard pastels, etc. will be allowed
-- Designs must not exceed beyond their designated 9ftx9ft square.
-- All artwork must be appropriate for public viewing by all ages. Organizers have the right to
disqualify and/or remove any inappropriate art or writing as they deem necessary.
-- Official judging will be based on a 1-5 scale on first impression, creativity, originality, skill and
use of color. All decision of the judges are final.
Special Weather Statement: All attempts will be made to hold the Chalk Art Contest. In the event of inclement weather, you will be notified of the rescheduling by 3pm on Saturday. Rain date: September 7th.
The Chalk Art Contest will be open for drawing at 4pm with judging at 7pm.
The prizes for each category are as follows:
-- 12 and under:
-- 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive a TIEC gift bag including a $10 gift card, free ice cream
coupon, a TIEC t-shirt, and much more!
-- 13+:
-- 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive a TIEC gift bag including a $10 gift card, free ice cream
coupon, a TIEC t-shirt, and much more!
-- Professional:
-- 1st place will receive a $100 gift card
-- 2nd place will receive a $75 gift card
-- 3rd place will receive a $50 gift card
All places will receive a TIEC gift bag with many more prizes!
