#MeetSpeak - SXArena: Balanced Voices
Alphabet Sambar is a community for writers, performers and storytellers. We conduct peer-feedback meets, workshops, writing games, story exercises etc. SXonomics is a feminist project that uses art and performance to drive conversations around gender, sexuality and equality.

Location: Helm of Eight, Andheri West, Mumbai
Date: Sunday, 4 March 2018
Entry fee: Rs.100 payable at the event

This event is a special collaboration between Alphabet Sambar and SXonomics. The usual #MeetSpeak guidelines apply (objective feedback, no personal comments, no apologies etc.). In addition, the discussion will also address the politics (gender, sexual or otherwise) of each presented creation. For this event, we are also opening it up to attendees without a piece of original work, who will still be allowed to participate in the discussion of each piece.

If you would like to share your work (writing, performance etc.) up for feedback and discussion, please fill in the form below. Facebook Event:

Balanced Voices
All art, written, painted, performed and otherwise has been about expressing ideas. Every artist and creator in the world pushes forward thought in some way. Censoring and silencing are part of the blood shed in creative spaces. But diversity in opinion, style, ideology and format is what makes art so important.

How do you interpret 'Balanced Voices'? Use this as your word-prompt, your approach or even just a trigger to create an original work of art. Feel free to go cross-format and cross-genre. Your creation can be a piece of writing, an original performance, a piece of visual art or a combination of all of these.
Rules of Alphabet Sambar #MeetSpeak
1. Every attendee MUST bring at least one original piece of their writing. Every piece will be read and critiqued. Please only consider attending if you are looking for honest feedback (and not compliments).
2. All languages are welcome.
3. There are no restrictions on genre, style or format. But we do not address pieces that are business-related, commercial or technical.
4. The piece can be brought on a printout or a digital device but NO HANDWRITTEN NOTES.
5. Every attendee must participate in the discussion of other attendees' pieces.
6.Please be on time and stay for the entire duration of the meet.
7. Entry fees are non-refundable and go towards Alphabet Sambar administrative expenses.
