Hello, I am [name of researcher] and, if you agree, I am going to be conducting an interview with you today to get a better sense of your background, your high school and college experiences (or aspirations), and your future career goals.  

We also will ask you a few questions about your experience so far with Hack for LA and your feelings going into the internship.  

All of your answers will be kept confidential and you may choose not to participate, to skip any question that you do not wish to answer, or to end the interview at any time.

We will be using your responses to get a better sense of who our interns are, in order to improve our program.  

We may also use some of your responses to apply for funding to expand the program in the future.  

We will also be recording your answers, so that we can transcribe the interviews at a later date if we have your permission to do so.
