Petition Regarding the MetroCenter Courtyard
We the undersigned agree that the MetroCenter courtyard is unappealing and underutilized as a public space. We urge the City of Binghamton to explore other options than those currently being proposed for this space. We strongly oppose spending $500,000 of local tax dollars to pave over the MetroCenter Courtyard to install ten parking spaces. Instead, we encourage the administration and City Council to engage the public in shaping a common vision and cost-effective design for this public space that prioritizes people over cars. Great cities have great public spaces and we would like to tap the creativity of this city to create a great public space we can all take pride in.
