[Critical information for international PhD students/researchers below]

A Turnitin használatára az alábbi kérdőív kitöltésével lehetséges regisztrálni, kizárólag @[kar].bme.hu (preferált) vagy @[tanszék].bme.hu címmel lehet. Figyelem, az eduID (pl. 123456@bme.hu) nem egy működő e-mail cím! Egyéb címeket figyelmen kívül hagyok.  @edu.bme.hu cím esetén a következő módon lehetséges licencet kérni:

1. Az utolsó, nem kötelező kérdés esetén a doktori.hu adatlap linkjének megadása. Ezzel csak aktív PhD hallgatók és témavezetők rendelkeznek. VAGY
2. A kitöltés előtt a tanszékvezető/PhD témavezető küld nekem egy rövid támogató e-mail-t.

FONTOS! Az anyagokat alapesetben a szoftver a saját repozitóriumába tölti fel. Ez jó is így, hiszen ekkor tudunk összehasonlítást végezni. Azonban pl. folyóiratba való beküldés előtt álló anyagok, vagy véleményezésre kapott cikkek, dokumentumok esetén ez nemkívánatos, így ehhez egy külön feladatot (assignment) kell létrehozni, ahol nem menti a rendszer a repozitóriumba a feltöltött dokumentumokat. Utólagosan a repozitóriumból  törölni kizárólag a következő módon lehet. A dokumentum kijelölése után ki kell választani a törlés kérése előugró menüpontot. Erről kapok egy értesítést, amit néhány órán belül általában jóvá is hagyok. Azonban mire a dokumentum véglegesen törlődik az adatbázisból, néhány nap legalább, de inkább egy héttel célszerű számolni. A dokumentum felhasználói fiókból való törlése, class törlése, stb. újtán NEM törlődik a repozitóriumból, azt kizárólag kérvény útján lehet töröltetni az adminisztrátorral, instruktori fiók nem rendelkezik jogosultsággal a törléshez.

You can register yourself for Turnitin with the below data. e-mail, first name, surname, faculty, and department.

Note that e-mail addresses ending with @[abbreviated faculty name].bme.hu (preferred) or @[department].bme.hu will be accepted solely. The eduID (e.g., 123456@bme.hu) is not a working e-mail address. Other e-mail addresses are all ignored.  If you are willing to register with an @edu.bme.hu e-mail address, you can get a license in one of the following ways:

1. Provide your doktori.hu profile page, which is the last and non-mandatory question. This method is only possible if you are a PhD student or a PhD supervisor at our university. OR
IMPORTANT: The software uploads the materials to the repository by default. This is fine since we can compare documents in this way. However, this is undesired for, e.g., paper manuscripts before submission and paper/document reviewing. For this purpose, you must create a new assignment by selecting 'no repository' in the 'Optional settings.' There is no way to remove the undesired documents by yourself; do not even try it. You have to select the document(s) to be deleted and ask for deletion in the appearing menu. I will receive a notification that I will usually approve within a few hours on average. However, it may take a few days, but no more than a week, until a document is fully removed from the Turnitin database. You CANNOT remove the document by yourself in any other way, such as deleting the document from your account, class, etc. The only way to remove a document is to submit the request detailed above. The instructor account has no right to remove any document from the database.
