Bagmati Promenade: Thapathali-Teku
Bagmati river has been flowing through the heart of Kathmandu city making it fertile and green for centuries and continues downwards through the southern plains to immerse with Ganges river in India.

Bagmati Promenade is a part of the Dream City Campaign. It is a heritage walk designed by and with those who live and work in a territory or have a special affinity with it. The walk is conceived by combining stories of historical moments, religion and social life and connecting it to modern society. Its interest and appeal has unified people and brought in a lot of knowledge in one place. Such a walk can take many forms such as guided tours and sensitivity walks run by heritage experts and artists who uncover the significance of the place. We are trying to revive and reinstate the site, with the help of storytelling and mapping skills. We have prepared a self-guided digital and offline ”tourists trail” map or walkway of the area, which means anybody can have the heritage walk by themselves.

We hope that you will participate in enlightening the heritages along Bagmati river.
